Restaurant Story

In the charming city of Kingston, Ontario, where history meets modernity, lies The Shuroop, that introduces the essence of Japanese cuisine.

"The Shuroop" is more than just a restaurant; it’s an intimate connection between two cultures, encapsulated in every bite and every moment spent within its walls.

Som, grew up in a restaurateur family where her passion for cooking blossomed. She studied at the famous Cordon Bleu Culinary School and worked in several renowned Michelin Star/Guide restaurants in Bangkok and Phuket (Thailand), honing her skills and learning about different cuisines. Yet, she always felt something was missing—a personal touch that made dining not just about food but about creating a memorable experience.

Years later, Som has taken over "The Shuroop" – dreaming in creating a place where the tranquility and flavors of Japan could meet the warmth and openness of Canadian hospitality, allowing her guests to feel like being at home.
